3 Wise Co. children missing

Missing children located in Sevier County, Tennessee

Three missing Wise County, Virginia children have been located. Wise County Sheriff's officials say that 3-year old Aaliyah Jasmine Spears, 5-year old Chaaz Daniel Spears and 1 and a half year old Ciarrh Spears, along with their mother, Kristina Spears were found on Saturday in Sevier County, Tennessee. Authorities feared for Aaliyah's health because they say she had just had her left index finger re-attached. Police say the children's father and grandmother recently collected community donations for aaliyah's follow up medical treatment in Kentucky. Instead he wound up in Knox County, where he was pulled over for a traffic stop and arrested on felony child neglect charges. The father told police he gave the children to their mother at a gas station in Asheville, North Carolina. The Sheriff's Department says the children are doing well and are now in the custody of social services.

I just hope where they are so young that this wont do any permanent mental damage or anything. I had a friend in florida who's dad did the same thing took her and her brother from their grandmother and drove them to alabama to give to their mother and then social services came and took them away and her dad and mom both ended up in jail and the grandmother died while the kids were in foster care. She said she still has nightmares about it.

Anyone remember the guy who kidnapped his kids from FL and were headed to KY with them? They got so close to their destination, only to die in that horrible horrible accident...
Very sad.
Think I was in HS when this happened.

If I recall correctly, they were northbound on 23 and hadn't quite gotten to the Pound exit yet. This was probably 15 years ago (rough estimate).

It appeared the dad had fallen asleep at the wheel, because there were no tire marks. He ran up under a coal truck. Killed all except one child who was asleep on the floorboard.

Wow that kid was lucky. And who would have though laying in the floorboard, no safety restraints except being stuck between the seats could save someones life.
